The Immobilizer System

This is an essential anti-theft measure that prevents car thieves from hotwiring the immobilizer, or bypassing it in any other method. If the immobilizer doesn't recognize the key, it won't allow the engine to start regardless of whether someone tries to short-circuit the ignition circuit.
Modern cars are equipped with advanced electronic Engine Immobilizers that use changing codes that roll. This means that each time a key is used, the system changes the second code and pushes it into the chip in the key. The first code stays in place, and each time the key is turned in the ignition, the immobilizer processes the two codes to determine if they are compatible.
